Magical Moments in Morocco
For longtime Hammerhead ambassador and adventure rider, Tom Gibbs, the quest to complete the Atlas Mountain Race was 5 years in the making. After crashing out on day 4 of the race in 2020, he knew he'd return one day for redemption. On February 13th, Tom crossed the finish line after 6 days, 23 hours, and 36 minutes of the hardest, most breathtaking riding he's ever done.
"This route is a work of art... it takes you to places far away from the tourist trails and into the raw, unfiltered, and real Morocco."

These types of bikepacking events take their riders to the edge of their mental - and physical - capabilities, and this race was no exception. While the magic of Morocco and its mountains helped keep Tom's mind occupied, he and his gear were put to the ultimate test for 6 days straight.
When it came to choosing his in-ride companion, Tom knew Karoo would be the most dependable device for such a tough event. With the ability to extend the battery life to 35+ hours, he had no issues with charging or navigation throughout his journey.
"The Karoo's performance was quite literally perfect. Having used this device on multiple other trips, I had no worries beforehand. There are so many features that I love on the Karoo but the extended battery feature has to be my favorite for multi-day bikepacking races."
